Vivo Cannabis Sees CEO, Chairman Announce Retirements

Vivo Cannabis (TSX: VIVO) this morning has announced the retirement of both its Chairman Paul Lucas, as well as its CEO Barry Fishman. Both retirements will be effective as of December 31, 2020, with the company to be lead by an interim CEO ahead of the company identifying a permanent replacement.

Independent director Richard Fitzgerald will be taking on both the Chairman role and that of the interim CEO role. Fitzgerald is currently the chair of the governance and nominating committee for the issuer, and is said to have “decades of experience in consumer insights, brand building and marketing.”

Commenting on his departure, Fishman commented that it was the “optimal time to transition to a new CEO to elevate the company to the next level.” Given the timing of the joint retirement, its unclear whether or not the retirement of both the CEO and Chairman was “optional” or not.

Vivo Cannabis last traded at $0.12 on the TSX.
