Vizsla Silver Makes New Discovery At Panuco Following Drill Testing
Vizsla Silver (TSX: VZLA) is reporting that it has made a new discovery at its Panuco project in Mexico. The discovery is found six kilometres to the northeast of the current resource area.
The discovery follows regional exploration being conducted by Vizsla, with the discovery made along the Animas Vein system, while drill testing below historic mine workings that exist on site. Highlights from the results include:
- AM-25-90: 897 g/t silver equivalent (653 g/t silver, 4.26 g/t gold, 0.02% lead, 0.04% zinc) over 5.85 metres true width from a depth of 118.70 metres
- And 568 g/t silver equivalent (457 g/t silver, 2.00 g/t gold, 0.08% lead, 0.18% zinc) over 2.60 metres true width from a depth of 131.20 metres
- Including 1,000 g/t silver equivalent (814 g/t silver, 3.42 g/t gold, 0.11% lead, 0.24% zinc) over 1.09 metres true width
- And 568 g/t silver equivalent (457 g/t silver, 2.00 g/t gold, 0.08% lead, 0.18% zinc) over 2.60 metres true width from a depth of 131.20 metres
“Applying the same thesis we used to discover the Napoleon Vein in 2020, historic workings at Animas were used to vector this new mineralization. To date, drilling in the area has been limited, however ongoing geologic interpretation of the localized system suggests both grade and widths may increase at depth. We will evaluate plans to follow up on this exciting discovery with further details to be provided in due course,” commented Michael Konnert, CEO of Vizsla Silver.
The Animas Vein system is said to host a large number of historical workings, and includes both the Rosarito and Cuevillas veins, which have an inferred resources of 7.01 million ounces of silver equivalent. The system has a mapped strike length in excess of 7.2 kilometres. Ten mineralized shoots have been exploited from the system to date.
Vizsla Silver last traded at $3.27 on the TSX.
