Aya Gold & Silver (TSX: AYA) has finally released its fourth quarter production results, with the company reporting the production of 491,310 ounces of silver for the period.

The production figure represents a 9.2% increase over the 450,046 ounces of silver produced in the fourth quarter of 2023. Tonnes processed during the quarter came in at 113,674 kt, a 71% improvement year over year, while silver recoveries declined two percentage points from 87% in Q4 2023 to 85% in Q4 2024.

For the full year, Aya managed to produce 1.6 million ounces of silver, a decline of 16.5% from the 2.0 million ounces of silver produced in 2023.

At the same time, production results for the month of January were released, with Aya quick to show off its enhanced production profile following an expansion at its Zgounder operation that was commissioned in late December. Production in January totaled 383,515 ounces of silver, with 88,868 tonnes processed and silver recoveries of 87%.

“I am pleased to announce Q4-2024 and January 2025 production results, achieving 2024 production guidance and highlighting a significant step-change in output and an 77% month-over-month increase from December 2024 to January 2025. This strong performance is driven by improving recoveries and the successful ramp-up of the new Zgounder plant, which is operating above nameplate capacity, alongside the open pit, which continues to exceed expectations,” commented Benoit La Salle, CEO of Aya.

Aya Gold & Silver last traded at $11.89 on the TSX.
