Blackstone Goes Full Swiftie In Annual Holiday Video

Everyone already knows how iconic Taylor Swift is. 2023 was practically Taylor’s version, and she is Time Magazine’s Person of the Year. But does that excuse Blackstone going full Swiftie in this year’s holiday video?

No, maybe it does not. But okay also maybe it’s nice that “the world’s largest alternative asset manager” doesn’t take itself too seriously.

It’s been a tradition for global investment firm Blackstone to release an annual internal holiday video since 2018. In these videos, which are usually themed, they allow their executives to showcase their humor. And this year, they went full Swiftie with a proposal to take Blackstone on an “alternatives era tour,” alluding to Swift’s massively successful “The Eras” tour.

In the video, which was sent to Blackstone’s internal audience, including employees, investors, financial advisers, and portfolio company leaders on Thursday morning, CEO Steve Schwarzman dons a shimmering rainbow jacket reminiscent of the one Swift wore for “Karma.” Executives and senior staff join the fun, lip-syncing lyrics to the song that tells you to “Build with Blackstone.”

Here’s a video of just the singing and dancing.
