Carbon Streaming Expands Executive Team Ahead Of Potential US Listing

Carbon Streaming Corp (NEO: NETZ) this morning bolstered its executive team as it works towards its debut on a US big board. The firm added two new executives to its team, whom are expected to enhance the firms investment pipeline.

First up is Geoff Smith, whom will be taking on the role of President and COO of the company. Highlight experienced in M&A and corporate finance, he comes from Scotiabank’s Investment Banking Division, where he was a managing director and had extensive involvement in royalties and streaming in the resource sector. He currently holds an Honours Bachelor of Commerce from Queens University.

Smith will be responsible for strategic financing initiatives in his new role, as well as for global operations of the firm. He’ll also play a key role in the move to a potential listing on a major US exchange.

Also added to the firms executive team is Derek Sawkins, whom will be taking on the role of EVP, Investments & Strategy. Sawkins most recently served as SVP of Corporate Development and Strategy at Invidi Tech, while boasting experience in business development, M&A and principal investing among other items. Sawkins was also a founder of Energy Aware, which was later sold to Generac Power Systems.

Sawkins will be focused on sourcing carbon projects for continued investment by the company, as well as implementing strategy at the firm.

“These appointments represent roles critical to advancing and executing our unique business strategy, and we are very fortunate to have such talent and experience coming onboard with Geoff and Derek,” commented Justin Cochrane, CEO, on the appointments.
