Copper Giant Drills 770 Metres of 0.54% Copper Equivalent

Copper Giant Resources (TSXV: CGNT) cut 770.9 metres grading 0.54% copper equivalent in the latest hole from its 2026 summer program at the Mocoa copper-molybdenum project in Colombia, extending mineralization southeast and deeper than any drilling the deposit has seen.

Assay results were released from two holes this morning. Both holes were drilled directionally off earlier parent holes, a technique that let the company pull roughly 6,000 metres from a single pad in steep terrain.

Highlights include:

Altamira Gold Corp. — sponsored Sponsored · Altamira Gold Corp.
  • MD-070: 0.54% copper equivalent (0.33% copper and 0.039% molybdenum) over 770.9 metres from a depth of 211.4 metres
    • Including 0.87% copper equivalent (0.54% copper and 0.063% molybdenum) over 102.4 metres from a depth of 396.2 metres
  • MD-068: 0.69% copper equivalent (0.44% copper and 0.048% molybdenum) over 157.3 metres from a depth of 145.3 metres
  • MD-068: 0.54% copper equivalent (0.32% copper and 0.041% molybdenum) over 154.5 metres from a depth of 526.5 metres

Hole MD-070 sits inside the known deposit and returned grades at or slightly above what the block model predicted, the same model underpinning the preliminary economic assessment due in the fourth quarter.

MD-068 is the more interesting one. It was collared into a southeastern sector previously tested only by vertical Ingeominas holes from the 1970s and 1980s that bottomed out near 400 metres. Grade improved with depth as the rock moved from sericite-rich outer alteration into a potassic core, and the hole ended in mineralization. That deeper material sits outside the current resource and the PEA.

“MD-068 is the hole I would look at twice,” said Edwin Naranjo Sierra, vice-president of exploration. “It sits below the vertical holes Ingeominas drilled decades ago, and it carries better grade at depth than the drilling above it. Those holes stopped where the technology of the day stopped, not where the system stopped.”

Mocoa currently holds an inferred resource of 1,120 million tonnes at 0.51% copper equivalent. An earlier hole from the same campaign, MD-066, returned 584 metres of 0.73% copper equivalent.

Assays from 2,170 metres at the La Estrella target remain pending.

Copper Giant Resources last traded at $1.30 on the TSX Venture.
