Power Nickel (TSXV: PNPN) is reporting early success in its fall drilling program, highlighting the intersection of 25 metres of massive and semi massive sulfides on a large step-out in the first hole under the program.

Masive and semi massive sulfides were encountered in hole PN-23-036, which is a step-out 300 metres to the south and east of previous drilling conducted at the Nisk Main Deposit. The mineralization was encountered at a downhole depth of 457 metres.

“Testing identified plunges at progressive deeper depths is the strategy behind these initial few holes of our fall campaign. Although the grade cannot be presumed now, successfully intersecting these massive and semi massive sulfides is a very encouraging start to our program,” commented Kenneth Williamson, VP of Exploration, on the results.

The drill program as a whole is intended to test several electromagnetic targets hosted within the ultramafic body, with the company also using data from an ambient noise tomography survey to reinforce drill targets. Downhole electromagnetics will also be conducted to further add to the data collected.

Drilling under the fall program began just weeks ago, with the goal of the campaign being to better understand the depth of the Nisk deposit.

“The Scientific team has done a terrific job using both traditional scientific tools like Gravity, IP, Airborne and Downhole EM together with the newer Ambient Noise Tomography to guide us to an exciting new growth zone for Nisk Main. This SE Trend is one of three we have identified at Nisk Main and all look very promising at depth and along strike,” commented CEO Terry Lynch on the results.

Power Nickel last traded at $0.255 on the TSX Venture.
