Roblox, NFL To Launch Metaverse Football Experience At Super Bowl LVI

Another field is opening up to football fans–this time, an immersive virtual one. Roblox (NYSE: RBLX) and National Football League are teaming up to launch the metaverse-oriented NFL Tycoon, in time for the biggest football event of the year.

“We are beyond thrilled to partner with Roblox as we journey deeper into the Metaverse and continue to learn the value of interactive shared experiences for the NFL,” said NFL SVP of Consumer Products Joe Ruggiero. “We see Roblox as an extension of NFL’s real-life engagement platforms for emerging social connectivity where fans can learn the game and business side of NFL football.”

The partnership said the NFL Tycoon will let users interact “in their own NFL-centered world” through simulator genres on the gaming platform. It is expected that the virtual experience will coincide with real-life NFL activities, starting with the NFL Tycoon event Destruction House which is inspired by the upcoming Super Bowl LVI.

The NFL-themed gameplay was developed with metaverse development studio MELON. Its commercial will air during Super Bowl LVI on February 13.

Roblox last traded at US$70.48 on the NYSE.
