Spotlight Series: SKRR Exploration With Chairman Ross McElroy

Welcome back to the Spotlight Series. Today we are looking at SKRR Exploration (TSXV: SKRR), a Saskatchewan based gold explorer. The primary exploration focus is on the Trans-Hudson Corridor in Saskatchewan searching for world class precious metal deposits.

The Trans-Hudson Orogen, although extremely well known in geological terms, has been significantly under-explored in Saskatchewan. It’s a region anchored by the SSR gold mining operations, and is anticipated by the firm to potentially become Canada’s next big gold district, similar to the famed Abitibi Greenstone Belt of Eastern Ontario and Quebec. That region has produced roughly 200 million ounces of gold over more than a century of mining activity.

SKRR is backed by an experienced leadership team, both in terms of being well versed in Saskatchewan’s geology, with Chairman Ross McElroy having been part of the original exploration teams that found Canadian uranium giant Cameco Corp (TSX: CCO), and Fission Uranium’s (TSX: FCU) Patterson Lake South uranium mine, but also in terms of global project experience. Advisor Ron Netolitzky was instrumental in exploring and developing two of Canada’s most successful high-grade precious metals mines, while also serving as chairman for the $577 million sale of Viceroy Exploration to Yamana Gold in 2006, and as chairman of Brett Resources during the $372 million sale to Osisko Mining in 2010. Meanwhile, McElroy’s team was also responsible for finding 3 major high-grade gold deposits in excess of 6 million ounces in the vast Hope Bay Gold project.

In terms of projects, SKRR’s flagship operation is the Leland Irving property, which is in the same regional geology as that of the Santoy Mine and Seabee Mill, currently operated by SSR Mining (TSX: SSRM). The company is currently conducting exploratory work at the property, which is approximately 20 kilometres from SSR Minings operations and has had historic grab samples with gold values of up to 32 grams per tonne gold and 60 grams per tonne gold.

Let’s welcome Chairman Ross McElroy.
