TMAC Resources Purchases 2,000 COVID-19 Test Kits From Datametrex AI

TMAC Resources (TSX: TMR) is evidently taking COVID-19 precautions seriously for its Nunavut, Canada operations. It was announced this morning that the company will be acquiring an initial 2,000 COVID-19 qPCR Detection Kits from that of Datametrex AI (TSXV: DM).

The initial pilot purchase order is valued at approximately $200,000, and consists of test kits, swabs, tubes, PPE, as well as the required lab testing time for the detection kits. The kits will be delivered to TMAC at it’s muster site in Edmonton, Alberta, where testing will be conducted by Transpharm Canada.

In connection with the sale, Datametrex has identified that it does not expect to bear any costs in relation with the sale of the kits. The firm will deliver the 2,000 units of 1Drop test kits as well as swabs and tubes to TMAC, after which Transpharm will manage the administration of these tests.

It’s currently unclear if the company expects to conduct further orders of COVID-19 testing kits from that of Datametrex, however emphasis was placed on the order being that of an “initial” one.

“Datametrex is pleased in assisting TMAC with implementing testing for response to COVID-19, and keeping its employees, the community in Nunavut safe. The thinking is simple; an individual who tests positive before arriving in Nunavut can be isolated until they recover, effectively negating the rate of transmission in the community.”
