Canopy Growth Quietly Parts Way With CCO, COO

It appears that Canopy Growth Corp (TSX: WEED) (NYSE:CGC) has continued to experience a bit of turbulence when it comes to that of its employees. BNN Bloomberg reported this morning that the company has confirmed two top executives have resigned from their positions with the cannabis giant.

It has been indicated that the firms Chief Operating Officer, Andre Fernandez, and its Chief Commercial Officer, Dave Bigioni, have departed from Canopy Growth. The report referred to the event as a “management shakeup”, however subsequent commentary identified that the two executives left the company under mutual terms.

The company’s response was simply that they were conducting executive searches to fill the roles and move the company forward.

Canopy Growth has not publicly disclosed the departures, instead opting this morning to announce a handful of beverage and edible products have either been launched or will soon be launched by the vertically integrated producer. The news amounted to the company re-discussing products that have yet to hit the market, but will soon, providing little meaningful update to its product portfolio. Both the Houseplant Grapefruit and Deep Space beverages are to hit the market in the “coming weeks.”

Canopy Growth last traded at $20.96 on the TSX.
