Ceasefire Breaks As Israeli Forces Attack Gaza

Multiple sources report that Israeli forces have launched comprehensive strikes across Gaza, marking the abrupt end of a fragile ceasefire in Gaza. While Iranian officials deny reports from Saudi outlets claiming a US operation sunk the Iranian intelligence vessel Zagros in the Gulf, ballistic missile movements have been observed at IRGC bases in Iran.

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu declared the ceasefire “officially over,” a decision reportedly tied to what the government perceived as stalled negotiations to prolong the truce. Hamas and Palestinian Islamic Jihad quickly denounced the renewed bombardment, with Hamas describing the attacks as an attempt to “overturn” an agreement meant to protect civilians.

From Gaza’s hospitals came alarming accounts of mounting casualties and inadequate medical resources. Health officials warned that some of the wounded are dying due to an acute shortage of supplies, with only a handful of intensive care beds still functional.

Schools in communities near the Gaza border were ordered closed due to concern about incoming rocket fire. Meanwhile, families of Israelis who remain captive in Gaza expressed outrage, accusing the government of “giving up on the hostages” by abandoning diplomacy and resorting to full-scale military action.

Away from Gaza, Saudi sources claimed that the Iranian SIGINT ship Zagros was sunk by US forces—an assertion Tehran swiftly dismissed. Local outlets also suggested senior IRGC personnel were eliminated in American strikes on Houthi targets in Yemen.

Reuters and other agencies highlighted a condemnation by CAIR, which decried the “massacre” of Palestinian civilians. A spokesperson for the United Nations’ humanitarian affairs bureau urged “everyone with influence” to intervene.

This is a developing story.
