A 200-ton haul truck at Liberty Gold’s Black Pine project is expected to carry only about two ounces of gold.
That sounds terrible until you look at the economics.
Liberty Gold’s new feasibility study outlines a US$2.4 billion after-tax NPV, a 60.5% IRR and a two-year payback from a deposit averaging just 0.29 grams of gold per tonne. The reason is simplicity: no mill, no crusher and no tailings dam. The rock is hauled directly to a heap-leach pad, allowing Black Pine to process enormous volumes at relatively low cost.
In this video, we break down how such low-grade rock can support a multi-billion-dollar mine, why the headline valuation jumped so dramatically, what the feasibility study actually improved, and the permitting and financing questions Liberty Gold still needs to solve before construction can begin.
