E3 Lithium Said To Start Construction Of Pilot Plant

Construction is said to have begun on the pilot plant at E3 Lithium’s (TSXV: ETL) Clearwater project in Olds, Alberta. The commencement of construction activities follows the company receiving its facility license early last month.

The facility, which is to be located at the first of three wells that that company drilled in 2022, is said to be on track for completion in the third quarter. With a budget of between $4.0 and $6.0 million, the plant has been designed to test its extraction tech at a large scale under real world operating conditions.

“We are happy to remain on track and on budget for a successful pilot beginning operations in Q3 of 2023,” commented CEO Chris Doornbos.

The company is said to currently be in the process of installing downhole equipment in advance of other equipment, such as the lithium extraction process equipment, arriving on site for install. The latter is said to be manufactured off-site, and will arrive early in the third quarter for install. Grading is also underway, which will be followed by the installation of piping and the outer structure over the next four to six weeks.
