Elizabeth Holmes Seen Crying On Family’s First Visit To Prison
Convicted fraudster Elizabeth Holmes was recently photographed at the federal prison camp in Bryan, Texas during a reunion with her husband Billy Evans, and parents Noel and Christian. Holmes appeared emotional for most of the portion of the visit that the family spent in the prison’s outdoor area.
The family reportedly stayed for seven hours, almost the entire allowable duration for visits in the prison. Holmes reported to the prison for her 11-year sentence on May 30th, and the photos were taken on her first weekend.
According to the prison handbook, inmates are only allowed “a brief kiss, embrace and/or handshake only upon arrival,” but Holmes was photographed holding on to one of Evans’ fingers while walking.
The Bryan prison is a minimum security prison, but given that Holmes was walking along shore near her beachfront rental just a little over a month ago, the move is a significant lifestyle change for the mother of two young children.
The manual states that inmates live in cells with open entryways instead of doors. Holmes may share a room with up to three others in bunkbeds. They are also expected to wake up at 6 a.m. every day, and “late sleepers who are unable to maintain rooms or arrive at work on time are subject to disciplinary action.”
In between her family’s visits, Holmes, like other inmates, is allowed a total of 300 minutes of calls per month, with an extra 100 minutes in November and December. All calls are monitored and recorded by the institution, and each call is limited to 15 minutes.
Holmes’ two children, 2-year-old William and 3-month-old Invicta, who were born before her conviction and her sentencing, weren’t at the reunion. The prison has designated areas for young children to play if the family brings them over for a visit.
