Founders Metals Hits 10.9 g/t Gold Over 38 Metres
Substantial gold intercepts are being reported by Founders Metals (TSXV: FDR) from a recent drill campaign conducted at its Antino Gold project in Suriname.
The results of a single hole were released this morning, which follows preliminary data that was put out by the company on March 4. Highlights from the results include:
- 24GG04: 10.90 g/t gold over 38.0 metres from a depth of 149.0 metres
The result comes from the furthest northwest drilling conducted at Froyo Gold Zone, with the zone remaining open. The interval is said to have intercepted a gold vein, and due to an abundance of course goal within the core, samples have been resubmitted for metallic screening.
“Today’s results are some of the best we’ve seen at Antino, and are yet another example of the exceedingly high-grade, near surface gold mineralization at Froyo. Additionally, we have submitted samples for metallic screening to determine gold concentrations using a much larger sample volume. This method can capture coarser gold than fire assay. We expect the result soon,” commented CEO Colin Padget.
The drill result is part of a large initial drill program being conducted by Founders in 2024, which intends to drill up to 30,000 metres at the project. A number of gold intercepts have been made under the program which began in mid-January, including:
- 23FR048: 8.18 g/t gold over 15.0 metres from a depth of 63.0 metres
- 23FR049: 5.52 g/t gold over 26.0 metres from a depth of 44.0 metres
- 24DO06: 2.16 g/t gold over 45.0 metres from a depth of 197.0 metres
Founders Metals last traded at $1.56 on the TSX Venture.
