Netflix’s Principal Accounting Officer Resigns After Three Months

After just three months on the job, the principal accounting officer at Netflix is resigning from his position.

According to a regulatory filing submitted with the SEC on Friday, Ken Barker submitted his resignation as Netflix’s principal accounting officer effective October 7, 2022. The filing only alluded that the decision was a personal one, and “not the result of any disagreement with the company on any matter relating to the company’s financials, operations, policies, or practices.” CFO Spencer Neumann will take on Barker’s role in the interim, until a replacement is found.

Barker served as the principal accounting officer for only three months, joining Netflix on June 27 to take over for Neumann. Prior to joining the streaming giant, Barker served as a finance executive at games company Electronic Arts. Following the announcement, Netflix shares were down over 2%.
