Filo Mining Intersects 0.81% Copper, 0.33 g/t Gold Over 701 Metres

Filo Mining (TSX: FILO) has released its latest assay results from ongoing drilling at its Filo del Sol project in Argentina. Results from a total of two holes were released, which has extended the strike of the firms Aurora Zone.

Highlights from the results include:

  • FSDH061: 1.13% copper equivalent (0.81% copper, 0.33 g/t gold and 9.1 g/t silver) over 701.2 metres, including 1.36% copper equivalent (0.97% copper, 0.40 g/t gold and 11.1 g/t silver) over 406 metres
  • FSDH063: 0.53% copper equivalent (0.29% copper, 0.25 g/t gold and 6.5 g/t silver) over 844.2 metres, including 0.71% copper equivalent (0.36% copper, 0.26 g/t gold and 18.1 g/t silver) over 142 metres

The Aurora Zone has now been extended to 1.6 kilometres, with the latest drilling extending the zone by 180 metres. Mineralization is believed to be continuous between the two holes reported, with strike remaining open to the north and south.

“As we ramp up drilling into the South American spring and summer, we will continue a combination of larger step-out holes to try to find the edges of the mineralized system, along with step-out and infill holes to try to fully define the size of this remarkable Aurora Zone,” commented CEO Jamie Beck.

The company also indicated that it was forced to halt drilling for a period due to the harsh winter experienced in the Andes, with large snowfalls and strong winds impacting operations since June. Drilling has now resumed, with six rigs in the process of drilling six holes on site, with two deeper drilling rigs expected to be added to the fleet in September.

The company has also stated it intends to get its number of active rigs up to 11, which would see 40,000 metres of drilling completed in the next twelve months.

Filo Mining last traded at $17.54 on the TSX.
