U.S. and Iranian negotiators have agreed on the terms of a 60-day memorandum of understanding to extend the ceasefire and open direct talks on Iran’s weapons program. However the deal is sitting unsigned, Trump has asked for more time, and Tehran has not formally confirmed its acceptance, as reported by Axios.
U.S. officials told Axios that Iranian negotiators subsequently indicated they had the necessary approvals from senior leadership and were ready to sign, though Tehran has not confirmed that publicly.
Trump was briefed by his negotiators on the final terms but didn’t immediately approve them, instead reportedly saying he wants a few days to mull the decision.

Despite the reporting conducted by Axios however, i24NEWS is reporting that Iran’s Supreme Leader Mojtaba Khamenei has not accepted the terms of the arrangement. Rather, the agreement was reached between Iran’s chief negotiator Abbas Araghchi and the US negotiating team led by Steve Witkoff, with senior leaders on both sides of the table still not agreeing to the terms.
